Designer Ross Lovegrove Unveils “Liquid Space” at Swarovski Crystal Palace Exhibition

The elegance and absolute stunning beauty of Swarovski Crystals has made a dramatic impact on the design world for more than a century. And once again, main sponsor Swarovski Crystal Palace Exhibition will showcase top designers at Design Miami 2008. This year designer Ross Lovegrove will display “Liquid Space” at the Design Miami Pavilion from December 3rd through 6th as part of Art Basel Miami 2008.
“Liquid Space” yet to be seen is described as a symmetric interplay of materials and light which include Swarovski crystals, solid block polished aluminum, LED lighting and more. Lovegrove, who dazzled the design world recently at the 2007 London Design Festival, captures the synergies associated with the refractive, reflective and optical features of the materials.

As part of Lovegrove’s display, a chandelier composed of Swarovski crystals suspends in the shape of a vortex and appears to be melting out from the ceiling. This suspends above or even partially below bioform quarter tables composed of solid block aluminum polished to a mirror-like appearance. Embedded LED lighting can change colors by remote control as can the suspension which alters the illumination of the entire masterpiece.
Swarovski Crystal Palace exhibitions have worked with numerous world-renowned designers including Zaha Hadid, Yvés Behar, Studio Job, Tom Dixon, Ron Arad, Tokujin Yoshioka and Fernando and Humberto Campana. Design Miami 2008 is sure to be just as incredible with Ross Lovegrove’s unveiling as well.
