Kruse International Offers Private Elvis Presley Jet in Auction

In its 35th Annual Las Vegas Collector Car Auction being held December 19th and 20th, Kruse International has many prize offerings in this year’s lot. However, none are more prestigious than what used to be Elvis’ own private luxury jet, the Lockheed Jetstar JT 12-5.

Presley was an aircraft enthusiast and owned three private jets of which two are now back at Graceland, but the third has remained in a private collector’s hands. The Jetstar is expected to obtain a bid between $700,000 and $2 Million in this month’s auction. It is one of 204 original aircrafts made by a joint venture between Lockheed and Jetstar between 1957 and 1978.

The Elvis Presley jet is without engines and continues to have the original exterior and interior as when “The King” himself owned the jet. No restoration efforts have been made. Engine replacement is estimated to cost between $10,000 and $35,000 depending on the quality and years of the engines acquired.

In addition to Elvis’ jet, Kruse International will also be offering many other classics including two vintage cars owned by Wayne Newton, a 1982 Mercedes Benz and a 2001 Jaguar XK8 Convertible. Pamela Anderson will be present also to auction off her “Lovestream” Trailer Lounge.
