The American Black Film Festival (ABFF) will be bringing A-list Hollywood actors and Hollywood insiders to Miami Beach from July 6-9, 2011 for screenings, seminars and soirees. Visionary entrepreneur, Jeff Friday, founded the ABFF and created a much needed and dynamic platform for diverse African-American film content, networking, empowerment and film knowledge to flourish. HBO is the ABFF's founding and premier sponsor. ABFF describes their programming initiatives as: EDUCATION: Traditional teaching methods - workshops, panels and seminars - convey information and knowledge to empower the ABFF audience. ARTISTIC EXPRESSION: A diverse cross-section of Pan-African films champion creative expression. COLLABORATION: The festival encourages its attendees to offer support and resources to one another. It has hence become a venue where both the aspiring and accomplished share information for a common goal: building and improving Black cinema.
